Dr Matthew Mackintosh started the practice in 1864. He died in 1887 whilst on a visit when his horse fell on him and he was succeeded by his son.
The practice moved to its present purpose-built surgery in 1992 and was formally opened by The Marquess of Abergavenny on 29th February 1992.
