Advanced Practitioners
Our Advanced Practitioners can see all patients except those under 1 and patients who are pregnant
First Contact Practitioners
We have First Contact Practitioners working at the practice who specialise in the following problems:
All soft tissue injuries, sprains, strains or sports injuries.
Arthritis – any joint.
Possible problems with muscles, ligaments, tendons or bone (eg tennis elbow, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains).
Spinal pain including lower back pain, mid-back pain and neck pain.
Spinal-related pain in arms or legs (eg pins and needles or numbness).
Post-orthopaedic surgery.
For these type of problems our reception team will book you a direct appointment, you do not have to see your GP first – we hope this will save you time and provide you with help as quickly as possible.
Practice Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technician
The Practice Pharmacist can give you advice and guidance on a range of medication issues.
Our Pharmacist (Ben) works closely with our Pharmacy Technicians (Lisa and Dean) managing patient medication requests and queries. Ben, Lisa and Dean may call you to discuss your medication.
Nurses
All patients can make appointments directly with the nurses. They are involved in all the screening programmes as well as ear syringing, cervical smears and vaccinations. They can offer advice on numerous health topics and give travel advice.
KAREN GARDNER
Manages Respiratory Illness
Healthcare Assistants
Patients can make appointments directly with the Healthcare Assistants for routine blood pressure checks and ECGs when these have been requested by a doctor.
Additionally our Healthcare Assistants undertake the Anticoagulant monitoring checks.
Phlebotomists
A phlebotomist is also on duty every day for blood tests. When advised by your GP please make your appointment at reception.
Practice Management
Our Practice Manager is Mrs Sara Sawyer
Receptionists
We have a number of receptionists and they are all here to help you. All our staff will deal with your enquiries and requests as efficiently as possible while respecting your confidentiality.
Community Midwives
Our Community Midwife is Tina Hanson who is based at the Crowborough Birthing Centre and can be contacted on 01892 664643.
Community Nurses
The team of community nurses care for patients who need nursing at home and are based at Grove House, Crowborough. Messages can be left at the surgery reception or by calling the surgery on (01892) 652233 before 11.00am.
Counsellors
We have two trained counsellors attached to the practice who may be seen by prior referral from your GP.
Health Visitors
There are health visitors working closely with the practice. They are nurses with extra training in the care and development of children under five years old. They have special responsibilities to mothers and children and are based at Grove House, Crowborough.
